Stop Comparing Yourself to Yourself!

When we don't regularly see ourselves, especially through kind eyes, we forget what we look like currently. Then when we see an older photo of us, we instantly notice all the differences. We begin comparing ourselves and how our body looks now with how we used to look. We stop wanting to be in photos because we don't want to be reminded of that. We stop looking in the mirror as much. Our mindset shifts and we start internalizing all of our perceived flaws. BUT, we can slowly shift this and reassure ourselves that we are safe and it is ok and natural to change, and our bodies will... because how could you go through this life and all the adventures, love, grief, and evolution without our bodies changing along with us? It's the nature of being alive.

This bombshell of a human is a dear friend of mine, and she recently came into the studio to be my muse for the day! I just love the art we created together! I love how fiery and bold these are, while still having fine art elements to them, as well as softness and empowerment.

Capturing someone unapologetically embodying themselves is something so powerful, and I’m continuously in awe of witnessing it.

You Deserve To See Yourself

This beautiful human booked a boudoir session with me recently, and one of the inspirations for having a session came from the advice of the fabulous Moira Rose on Schitts Creek. This wise woman said:

“Take a thousand, naked pictures of yourself now. You may currently think, "Oh, I'm too spooky." Or, "Nobody wants to see these tiny boobies." But, believe me, one day you will look at those photos with much kinder eyes and say, "Dear God, I was a beautiful thing!"

Love your own self this Valentines Day!

Hey YOU! Here’s a gentle reminder to show yourself as much love as you do anyone else- this valentines day and every day. I am a HUGE proponent of celebrating love any chance you can get- especially love for your own damn self! So when this beauty reached out to me about setting up a session to do just that- celebrate her own love for herself and being her own badass valentine- I was absolutely down for that! I LOVED this session. It was full of the best energy, self love and celebration, and Cat completely owning her own sensuality.

Moody Springtime Inspired Boudoir Session

Springtime is one of my favorite times of year. When my good friend and go to makeup and hair artist Katie-Laine Thornton, and her assistant and beautiful friend Cat, planned a just for fun boudoir session at our new downtown Nashville studio space, I was so ready to incorporate some springtime blooms into the mix, while still keeping things moody, cause that’s my jam!
