This bombshell of a human is a dear friend of mine, and she recently came into the studio to be my muse for the day! I just love the art we created together! I love how fiery and bold these are, while still having fine art elements to them, as well as softness and empowerment.

Capturing someone unapologetically embodying themselves is something so powerful, and I’m continuously in awe of witnessing it.

You Deserve To See Yourself

This beautiful human booked a boudoir session with me recently, and one of the inspirations for having a session came from the advice of the fabulous Moira Rose on Schitts Creek. This wise woman said:

“Take a thousand, naked pictures of yourself now. You may currently think, "Oh, I'm too spooky." Or, "Nobody wants to see these tiny boobies." But, believe me, one day you will look at those photos with much kinder eyes and say, "Dear God, I was a beautiful thing!"

Bloom || A Group Empowerment Session

Just as flowers bring joy and inspiration to the world, individuals who have bloomed into their own unique beauty can have a profound impact on those around them. We can inspire others through our authenticity, resilience, and the way we embrace our individuality. Our blossoming serves as a reminder that each person has their own journey, their own gifts, and their own path to traverse. This group empowerment session around these ideas was absolutely magical!

Intimate Fine Art Portrait Session

I absolutely loved this recent portrait session where I had the pleasure of photographing a fellow artist in my studio. I feel that there is a nature of vulnerable intimacy within these photos - and with strength, softness, light, and dark, all mixed together. We are all of us a mix of these things, and I think that when those can be seen in photographs, that it can lead to a feeling of human connection. Which I feel is one of the coolest aspects of photography! I’m so thankful for the trust that folks give to me in order to make portraits like these. It feels like such a gift to see and photograph your full, complex, inherently beautiful self!

I've been working with this babe since I first started photography (a little over 12 years ago!) and it's been so fun to see how we've both grown over the years. We’ve done shoots of all kinds in so many places over the years, but we finally had a chance to shoot at my studio together for the first time, and it felt so good to create these boudoir and fine art portraits with her again! I love being able to explore multiple looks and vibes within a session, and it was so fun to just get in flow with each other and see what came out of it. I’m really so in love with these images!

Our Relationship With Our Bellies

The main body image hang-ups that I've encountered with folks, and with myself, are so often around bellies. We hold so much power and strength in this area, yet we relentlessly tell it it's not "good" because it doesn't look a certain way. But here's a reminder : bellies aren't good or bad...they are simply bellies. Your belly doesn't hold moral worth, the way it looks doesn't make you a good or bad person, it doesn't make you more or less capable of experiencing desire or pleasure simply because of how it looks, and it definitely is not worthy of the shame that we so often carry around it.

“From the beginning of my session Amy made me feel completely comfortable. I suffer from chronic illness/pain and she was constantly checking in, making sure I was okay during the poses. I had the most wonderful time and it made me truly appreciate all the amazing things my body can still do!” -Melanie

Fine Art Boudoir- complete with ALL the flowers and bursting with spring colors!

One of the best feelings is seeing a vision come to life- and my goodness did that happen with this shoot! I am absolutely over the moon with this one ya’ll! This style is a little different than most of my boudoir sessions, and it just goes to show that the style of boudoir doesn’t have to stick to one “look”! I wanted to explore this color pallet, complete with LOTS of flowers, and a more “fine art” editorial vibe. With the help of several amazing women (credits located at the bottom of this post!) this shoot came together in the most dreamy of ways. I’m so thankful for this form of art, and for all the beauty it can bring into the world!
